REG, based in Ames, Iowa, is a leading North American biodiesel producer, with eight active refineries in four states that have a combined nameplate production capacity of 257 million gallons. About Renewable Energy GroupĀ® is a leading North American biodiesel producer with a nationwide distribution and logistics system. Central Iowa Energy is an LLC group located in central Iowa. The Pretreatment Building has the capability of producing biodiesel by refining crude soybean oil or using refined soy oil. The FFA (free fatty acid) tower has the added flexibility to produce biodiesel by refining animal fats as well. Features:

  • 30 million gallon per year Biodiesel Facility.
  • Storage Bins
    • Two - 500,000 gallon crude oil tanks
    • Three - 500,000 gallon biodiesel tanks
    • Two - Glycerine tanks
    • Two - Refined oil tanks
    • One - Soapstock tank
    • One - Fatty acid tank
  • Capacity is based on running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 330 days a year.

    • Complete plant automation, electrical, and mechanical installation.
    • Precast concrete control and utility core.
    • Pre-engineered metal support and receiving buildings.
