Construction Capabilities
Expert Self-Performance Across Every Critical Trade
Unlike construction managers who subcontract the core work, Todd & Sargent self-performs the construction scopes that matter most on industrial projects. This gives us direct control over quality, schedule, and safety — and gives you a contractor who is fully accountable at the work face.
Concrete Construction & Slipform
From shallow spread footings and equipment pads to massive grain bins and concrete silos, our crews are experts in all forms of industrial concrete construction. Our signature specialty is slipform concrete — a continuous-pour technique we first applied at Ceres Land Company in Sterling, Colorado in 1969. In the 55+ years since, we have constructed hundreds of slipform structures across grain elevators, feed mills, flour mills, industrial storage, and cement facilities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Structural Steel Erection
Our experienced crews erect structural steel frames, conveying galleries, head houses, transfer towers, and support structures for industrial facilities across the U.S. and Canada. We manage steel fabrication through trusted suppliers and self-perform erection with experienced crews equipped with modern crane and lifting equipment.
Mechanical & Millwright Construction
Equipment setting and alignment, process piping, dust collection systems, and pneumatic conveying are self-performed by our millwright and mechanical crews. We specialize in installing the complex processing equipment found inside grain, feed, flour, pet food, oilseed, and industrial processing facilities.
Site & Civil Construction
Our crews manage complete site preparation including earthwork, underground utilities, concrete paving, stormwater infrastructure, and site drainage. Coordinating civil construction in-house allows tighter schedule control and eliminates interface risk between civil and structural scopes.
Safety First, Always
An Uncompromising Safety Culture
At Todd & Sargent, safety is not a compliance program — it is a core value lived every day on every jobsite by every member of our workforce.
Our field teams operate under a comprehensive safety management system that meets and exceeds OSHA requirements for industrial construction. We maintain a full-time dedicated safety team that conducts daily pre-task safety planning, regular unannounced field audits, and ongoing workforce safety training and certification.
Every subcontractor working on a Todd & Sargent project must meet our safety prequalification standards before setting foot on site. Our subcontractor safety orientation process, drug and alcohol testing program, and ongoing compliance monitoring ensure a consistent safety culture across the entire project workforce.
Our industry-low Experience Modification Rate (EMR) reflects our commitment to sending every worker home safely every day — a performance record that demonstrates our safety discipline to owners, insurers, surety companies, and regulatory agencies.
