Industrial Project Management & Procurement
Expert project oversight, strategic material procurement, and rigorous cost and schedule management for agricultural and industrial construction projects across North America — from groundbreaking to final handover.
Our PM Approach
Disciplined Management of Every Project Variable
At Todd & Sargent, project management is not a support function — it is the backbone of our delivery model. Our project managers are empowered, experienced professionals who are fully accountable for delivering every project on time, within budget, and to the quality standards your operation demands.
01
Project Planning & Kickoff
Upon contract execution, our PM team establishes the project baseline: a detailed CPM schedule, budget breakdown structure, communication plan, quality management plan, and project risk register. A formal kickoff meeting aligns all internal teams, subcontractors, and the owner’s team before work begins.
02
Material Procurement & Supply Chain Management
Our procurement team leverages decades of supplier relationships across the structural steel, process equipment, concrete materials, and mechanical component markets. We pre-purchase long-lead items — conveyors, bucket elevators, dryers, bins — strategically to protect your schedule and lock in pricing before market escalation.
03
Schedule Management
We use CPM scheduling to manage project timelines, update and distribute schedules weekly, and proactively identify schedule risks before they impact your startup date. Every owner receives regular schedule status updates with a clear view of critical path activities, float consumption, and look-ahead plans.
04
Cost Control & Financial Reporting
Real-time cost tracking against the project budget is maintained throughout construction. Owners receive detailed monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and change order logs — so there are never financial surprises at project close. Our commitment: full financial transparency throughout your project.
05
Quality Assurance & Control
Our QA/QC program includes documented inspection and hold points, third-party materials testing where required, daily quality documentation by our field teams, and regular quality review meetings with the owner.
Every subcontractor on a T&S; project is prequalified and held to our quality standards.
06
Closeout & Structured Handover
Project closeout is a disciplined process: systematic punch list completion, as-built drawing delivery, operations and maintenance manual assembly, equipment warranty documentation, and a structured handover meeting with your operations and maintenance team.

Strategic Procurement for Agri-Industrial Projects
Material and equipment procurement represents 40–60% of the total cost of most agri-industrial construction projects. Todd & Sargent’s procurement team brings market knowledge, supplier relationships, and strategic sourcing discipline that directly improves your project economics.
Long-Lead Equipment Strategy
Grain dryers, bucket elevators, pellet mills, air handling systems, and structural steel all have extended lead times that can define your project schedule. We identify long-lead items early and procure them strategically
— keeping your schedule on track.
Structural Steel Sourcing
Our team has long-standing relationships with fabricators across the Midwest, giving us competitive pricing, reliable delivery commitments, and quality assurance on the structural steel that forms the backbone of your facility.
Process Equipment Procurement
We source process equipment from industry-leading manufacturers for grain, feed, flour, and biofuel applications — including conveying equipment, processing machinery, dust collection systems, and controls packages.
Subcontractor Management
Specialty subcontractors — electrical, controls, fire protection — are prequalified, competitively bid, and managed to the same schedule and quality standards as our own crews.
Material Cost Control
Real-time material cost tracking against budget ensures that procurement decisions are always made with full awareness of budget impact. We flag scope and market changes before they become surprises.
Owner Transparency
All procurement activities, vendor selections, pricing, and delivery commitments are documented and shared with the owner. You always know where your money is going and when materials will arrive.
